Untamed nature or the convenience of beach facilities? Small pebbles or the finest sand?  These are the questions posed by tourists looking for a seaside holiday.

No problem, Le Marche is the answer for everyone because it offers all types of beaches that can be easily reached by every zone in the region.

Those wishing to spend their seaside vacation in Le Marche should be pleasantly forewarned that the region offers many not-to-be-missed beaches.

Without doubt, the best beaches in Le Marche are those close to Mount Conero, between Sirolo, Numana and Portonovo, in the Province of Ancona. Then there are the wide and super-equipped beaches of Senigallia, Fano and Pesaro. In these areas, the sea is particularly suitable for children, but there are also entertainment facilities for older guests.

The summer beach: from the north to the south along the coast in Le Marche

You could start your beach journey from the north, at Gabicce Mare to be precise. Here there are beaches with the finest and clearest sand, where the sea is clean and the sea stacks project into the blue transparent water of the Mount San Bartolo Park. A little more hidden is Fiorenzuola di Focara, a small beach in the province of Pesaro-Urbino that can only be reached on foot along a beautiful path through the heart of nature.

For those who prefer the convenience of a beach close to the town, Fano boasts equipped beaches, such as the Lido and l’Arzilla, where a golden beach leads to the water with a seabed that gradually becomes deeper, perfect for those with children. Various bars and restaurants have sprung up in recent years that enliven the day with activities and music.

Moving south, Senigallia is a must. Here there are miles and miles of shoreline, the various beach establishments and sporting facilities brighten up the many tourists who choose to spend their holidays here each year.

Towards the best beaches in Le Marche: the Conero Riviera

The Conero Riviera is one of the most unique areas of the entire Adriatic coast, the famous promontory hides special caves and amazing coves, as well as sand and pebble beaches. One of the most chic beaches is Portonovo, where Mount Conero is reflected in the blue water.

Portonovo offers no less than four beautiful beaches with beach facilities and umbrellas. From the Molo Beach you can watch the sun set on the sea without anything obstructing your view. Immediately after Portonovo is the untouched and rugged beach of Mezzavalle surrounded by majestic Mount Conero. The beach can be reached via the sea or along a footpath and is completely free of beach establishments. It is made of sand, shingle and rock. The effort required to reach the beach of Mezzavalle is repaid as soon as you arrive by the peace and quiet of this corner of paradise at the foot of Mount Conero.

Those who can't resist the beauty of luxuriant and wild nature, must head for the famous Due Sorelle (Two Sisters) Beach, in the municipality of Sirolo. The cove takes its name from the presence of two twined reefs emerging from the water. The seabed is made up of rounded stones, but the beach is only accessible via the sea or along a winding path towering over the Adriatic. The Due Sorelle Beach is one of the symbols of Le Marche region and the subject of fantastic and surreal photos every year by tourists.

Immediately after the Due Sorelle Beach is the largest beach in Le Marche region. The beach of San Michele can be reached on foot via a path that starts in the Parco della Repubblica di Sirolo (Republic of Sirolo Park).

Again in Sirolo, not far from the Due Sorelle, is the unique Sassi Neri (Black Rock) Beach. This strange name comes from the dark rocks that can be seen on the seabed. The Sassi Neri Beach is without any beach establishments and consists of a beautiful rocky tract, loved by many naturalists.

Proceeding towards Numana we find a really stroking bay, surrounded by a reef. The Frati Beach, is recognisable for its fine sand and transparent water. This fascinating and private beach is perfect for couples and lovers of snorkeling. Also worthy of mention is the La Vela Beach, a small cove formed by pebbles and shingle that can be reached via a path that skirts the mountain slopes.

The fun starts when night falls on the beach

Reaching Porto Recanati, Mount Conero remains as the background to a relaxing dip. Here the shingle beaches are coloured by the umbrellas of the beach establishments and the interesting seaside is rich in restaurants and bars overlooking the water.

Proceeding further southwards you come to Porto San Giorgio. The beaches are excellent for families and for lovers of summer sports such as beach soccer and beach volley. The wide spaces offer tranquility and privacy as well as the chance to have fun with ball sports or beach tennis. The sand is clean and well maintained even in the stretches without beach establishments.

At daybreak, the beach establishments close when the clubs open and the fun starts!
